very adventurous and interesting, storyline. I like hoe the characters have different interests. Such as how Larry would rather got for the Reads section but Evie would read about the Unreads . Contrast between real life and Folio but end in a situation very fast paced.

this book was extremely mysterious, gripping and had one of the best endings I have ever read. Filled with excitement, discomfort, battles, enemies and mystery. unfortunately it echoed C.S Lewis’ the lion the witch and the wardrobe and the characters were poorly described. it had an ending of it’s own and a slightly different concept, but they are too alike for it to be original. but if you persevere it is a good read with plenty of wonderous excitement.
Thanks for your review Freya. It’s fantastic that you spotted the link to ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’. I noticed that Piers talks about this in his acknowledgements at the back of the book. How it was his favourite book as a child and how ‘The Lost Magician’ stems from his love of this enduring classic. It sounds like you have this in common, maybe you will get a chance to talk to him about it at the Book Awards later this year.

The Lost Magician was an engaging read and I liked the aspect of the young boy believing in fiction whereas the smart yet young girls, who is tired of being ignored, feels powerful with the non-fictions. I also very much like how they keep in referencing the tragic incidents in the war. A great read however I got a bit board midway.

This book was the best book I have ever read in a while. The story line was clear and very imaginative, and as you proceed, you start to understand more about the book. I felt different emotions and expressions throughout the book (Grey Bear was especially one of my funny characters as for Larry and his imagination) I found the book really interesting because on every page of the book something happens that’s so exciting that when I say “I’m finished now” I can’t seem to put the book down.I loved the ending and I enjoyed reading a book about books. I loved the characters, the description of the setting and most of all , the amazing idea of it all. If you cam imagine it. it exists, somewhere…
Thanks you Piers Torday

This was a good book not as good as Polar Bear Explorers but still good. It gave me a very strong feel of Narnia and also slight things of Harry Potter with not saying the name. It is like Narnia a very good book but feels a bit like a less organised version of the book.
