I really liked this book because of the adventure side to the story, how kids around the readers age go on the amazing magical adventure with a talking cat to try and get a wish granted from a mythical beast. It’s amazing.

A great but very creepy, very strange weird book. I feel that some explanation was missing but it had a satisfying ending. I hope there is a sequel but I will not be disappointed if there isn’t.

Malamander was a very enjoyable book to read. It isn’t the type of book I’d usually pick. The story was creepy and mysterious. I liked the idea it was set at the seaside town as they are usually bright and happy. I like the character Boathook Man like he acts angry and seems very mysterious.

I really enjoyed reading Malamander as it was an exciting and interesting tale. I think there should’ve been a bit more of a twist as you could pretty much guess what would happen next. Other than that the book is very creative and full of imagination. I couldn’t stop reading this and i would recommend this book to other pupils who like fantasy.
