I really liked this book it was exciting and some things took an unexpected turn – really unexpected. I rated this book only 4/5 because sometimes it got a bit confusing (like whether the girl was good or bad)I love how at the start the girl jumped into the lost and found office and she was looking for her lost parents- I love the connection. I first read this in yr 5. The thing that appealed to me was not only the blurb and the front cover but also the name ‘Malamander’ and the comment M.G. Leonard put’ Fantastical story telling at its best’. I am really fussy about books but I liked this one! I really would love to meet Thomas Taylor as he has written such a good book!

This book was brilliant. It was inventive and imaginative. This book was good because there was always suspense and the chapters were unusual and funny. The funny thing is that I think I have been there and met the characters in a dream. The front illustrations will draw a lot of people in as it is very interesting.

I liked this book quite a lot. The downfall was the fact that Violet never found her parents. I also want to hear Herbies back story. I liked how Violet sacrificed her wish. Overall, it’s a pretty good read.

Malamander was amazing! I was especially surprised about how Mrs Fossil (Wendy) actually looked after (… spoiler oops)The choice of names was brilliant as well, for example if you swap Violet Parma’s first name and surname, you get a popular sweet. And Mrs Fossil enjoys looking for fossils! I really hated the author Sebastian Eels. Malamander was a fantastic book and I would definitely recommend it!!

I hope you don’t mind the little edit Karishma. I loved that bit too but I didn’t want to give anything away.
