Species: Clownfish (Daddicus fishibum)
Habitat: The aquarium

Special notes:After Dad’s funeral, I thought I’d never see him again. But when I visited the aquarium, there he was-only, he’d turned into a clownfish!
I don’t think Mum’s ready to hear the news just yet.
So for now, it’ll have to be my secret…

After reading the book clownfish by Alan Durrant I thought it was one of the best books I have ever met. I love it how he puts different emotions in it like when Dak and his mum found out that there dad/husband had died they were very very sad. But when Dak found out his dad was alive, but a fish he was very happy. My favourite part was when Dak found out that his dad was a clownfish. I think this is a really good book!

Inspiring and motivating. Feels like there are two sides to this book. The realistic part about the aquarium closing and Dak’s imagination about his dad being clownfish. Dak does seem to keep the two sides apart as he doesn’t tell his ‘dad’ about the aquarium matters. It shows that your imagination has no limits and as long as your believe that it is happening. If you are passionate about something, in Dak’s case fish, then you can make it happen.

Clownfish is a heartbreaking story about a boy who has recently witnessed his dad dying This book is a great read and I recommend it to 12 ,11, 10 year olds. I like this book Dak Finds his dad has turned into a goldfish several days after he died. Every day he visits him. Just like all kids do with their ordinary parents, he shares everything with his mum about the aquarium well mostly. One day when dad is talking to his dad violet comes and sees him, she understands why he is so passionate about the aquarium now ,they both embark on a journey to save the aquarium.
