Species: Clownfish (Daddicus fishibum)
Habitat: The aquarium
Food: Fish flakes/cheeseburgers
Special notes:After Dad’s funeral, I thought I’d never see him again. But when I visited the aquarium, there he was-only, he’d turned into a clownfish!
I don’t think Mum’s ready to hear the news just yet.
So for now, it’ll have to be my secret…

I loved this book! I think it had the best plot ever! I think it was funny that Dak’s dad became a clownfish and so I have a fish that my dad would be. I chose the cookie cutter shark because that name always makes me laugh and my dad is really funny and I think he’d fit well with the sharks family (especially the mega-mouth shark). My favourite character was Violet because I think she had a lovely name and although she could be quite aggressive sometimes, she was a great friend and Dak wouldn’t of been able to do the interview without her. Thank you for this lovely book 4 1/2 STARS
I really loved this book because it is such a sad but happy book. I love the part where dad started ‘dancing’ in his tank. I am really sorry that you lost your dad. But recently I found out that ‘Nemo’ means nothing in Latin. When I was reading this book, because it kept making relations to Nemo-the film it almost shows that the dad isn’t really there and he really has died. This book was happy because it is so much better knowing the truth that carrying on pretending. I am really sorry to Alan for his dad’s death.

I liked this book very much. I loved how it was about fish and all of his feelings were displayed as metaphors based on the sea. For example ‘my anger was like a tidal wave’. The book made me feel like I was there in the boy’s shoes. I kept reading all the way and couldn’t put it down. I also liked how you didn’t just read but you also learnt about different types of fish.

Clownfish was a good book about loss and how to deal with it. It was emotional and shows the consistencies of lies although it starts and ends on a low note it has an action packed middle was a great book with a very sad ending.
I liked how Dak changed weirdly through the book. Normally you’d be crying and be really sad at the end rather that at the start when his dad died. I thought it was sad that the clownfish stopped talking to Dak at the end.
