I love war books, although I would not like the war, I just love the drama that could appear and you don’t know what’s coming next! My favourite part was when everyone came over to have a Christmas party and Clarry’s friend Violet was invited to come and do activity sessions with Clarry. I loved the fact that they all had different personalities like Clarry’s father was a very serious and private guy whereas Rupert was very Bright and Brave. . I think this book had and amazing storyline, it was very enjoyable!! I nearly cried(*spoiler)

A lot of feelings and thoughts put into this book. Engaging. There are many tragic moments but everything is in a way , as close to perfect as it can get. Really enjoyable book. At may times everything is going badly but something changes and puts it in a good direction. You fell close to the character as the book is about their life so you feel you have seen the characters grow up.

This book was emotionally compelling and in-depth with a plentiful insight into the lives of those who lived through the war. it was descriptive and believable, with characters you could picture, relate to and feel for. I will remember this book as a beautiful and excellent read. overall the descriptions were great, the author obviously put a lot of effort into the emotion and feel, and I thought it was amazing.

I thought this book was written very believably and the characters were so realistic, it was like I could see them in front of me. It took me a little while to get into it but once I did, the story was incredible and very gripping.
