How do you catch a killer when you canÆt move and you have no voice
I have no secrets of my own. I canÆt do anything without someone knowing about it. I can see, though, and I can hear, and sometimes people forget that. Sometimes people talk about me as if IÆm not there. I hate that. And sometimes people tell me their secrets. Dan did. And I canÆt tell anyone. I wish I could do something.
GemmaÆs life is in danger in this gripping mystery from Penny Joelson.

Probably the best book from the awards that I have read so far. It is a thriller with a well narrated first person point of view. The book is about society and how messages are spread and passed on. GREAT BOOK!4 Stars

Hi Thomas. Thank you for the lovely review. I am so happy to read that this is one of the best books you’ve read!
Penny JoelsonÆs I Have No Secrets is a brilliantly formed thriller and will keep you reading no matter what. It generates tension in the atmosphere and we are often left wondering: can a fourteen year old girl that cannot move or speak really catch a killer? Keeping the reader in suspense, all you want is to read it at every opportunity made available. The characters felt so close to me and the plot was compelling.
Jemma is a fourteen year old girl with severe cerebral palsy. She is unable to communicate with others and does not have the ability to move. She relies on her family and her carer Sarah for everything. With an inquisitive and sharp mind, Jemma is ready to face almost anything. People often share their secrets with her. But when she is confronted with a terrible secret, she is utterly powerless to do anything. As the cover of the novel says æHow do you catch a killer when you canÆt move and have no voice?Æ
I was in a daze when I came out of those book, awestruck. It is one of the best books I have read recently, showing the power of people who may have disabilities. There were a surfeit of cliffhangers and I was left wondering what was going to happen next. We often take things for granted in our life and get moody and disappointed when we do not get such little irrelevant things. Reading I Have No Secrets has opened my eyes and I enjoyed reading a book that allowed me to see through the perspective of a unique character. It is truly a heart-rending and compulsive text. I would recommend this novel to young adults who may enjoy books like æWonderÆ, fans of Agatha Christie etc. I would love to read ‘Girl In The Window’ next.
