The Jamie Drake Equation by Christopher Edge
A story about families, space and the Universe. JamieÆs Dad is an astronaut, transmitting to Earth from the NASA International Space Station. When visiting his local Observatory, Jamie picks up a strange signal on his phone û could it be evidence of alien life?
When his DadÆs mission goes catastrophically wrong, Jamie holds a secret which just *might* get him back to Earth.
This is a perfect blend of story-telling, science and mankindÆs quest to æboldly go where no one has gone before.Æ
It was a very lovely book, I loved the story line and how it included information which people could more about space. I would have enjoyed it even more if I was longer and how we could learn more about how he saved his dad and pulled him back through this “light”. Overall the it’s an amazing Book!
Glad you enjoyed it. I think you would also enjoy another book by Christopher Edge called The Many Worlds of Albie Bright.
I liked this book, but not a lot. Though I think that it could be aimed at a younger audience.
This story was not for me, I believe it may be aimed at a younger age group.
I liked the fact that it was fiction, but it made me think it was a reality. The author painted such a detailed picture in my mind, from the observatory on Beacon Hill to the alien planet that was shown on Jamie’s phone. I was amazed that Commander Dan Drake had to miss his son’s birthday to complete his mission, even though he tried to make up for it. If I was Jamie, I would have been delighted that I had the only Lego set of the ISS, but not so delighted that my parents were splitting up. The way the author described Buzz’s personality left me wondering what he might look like, a mean-looking gigantic monster or something completely different. I was so intrigued in the book that I barely wanted to stop reading it to do something else. The thing I love about a good book is that it has a very strong, powerful moral to it, and this book definitely succeeded in fulfilling that. I just wanted to carry on reading it. It was a bit of a shorter read, but I would rate it:
4 STARS.
Jamie Drake is a very heart-warming and down to earth character whose dad is an awesome spaceman! All the other kids at school think this is sick, and would love to have a dad like Jamie’s but all he actually wants is his dad to talk to and spend his time doing ‘regular dad’ things with.
