Smartáis a crime story featuring a detective with a difference. When a homeless man drowns in the canal, everyone thinks that it is an accident, but Kieran thinks otherwise. The police donÆt take any notice of his offer to help in the investigation soáKieran decides that he is going to find out what really happened.
It is not easy and could put him in danger, but Kieran has some special skills to help him. Fans of books such as The London Eye Mystery and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time will enjoy this mystery and its quirky hero.

I liked this book because even though Kieran sees things in a different way he is still able to solve something that most people wouldn’t be able to solve. It is an emotional story that shows you can do anything you want.
I love this book because the character Kieran has problems with breathing and other things but he could still be the hero. In a way I also liked and disliked Tony because he has very strong feelings but I don’t like the way he treats others.
An emotional, moving story told through the voice of Kieran who has a unique view of life. Kieran has a simple way of looking at things but he sums everything up so well. His home life is problematic and upsetting but more for the reader than poor Kieran. He shows how SMART he is as he gradually tries to solve the Mystery. I loved this book and think it would appeal to children and adults alike.
This is a fantastic book of friendship, crime and mystery with many twists and turns. It is now definitely one of my favourites. 5/5 would recommend to anyone.
