In this fast paced adventure, three orphaned children live in poverty in London. Visiting their Auntie Irene in hospital, they are given an old photo album with a set of strange photos in it. Their Aunt was an inventor, and made a fortune. However, she was very secretive and distrustful, so when she dies, the jewels which she promised Holly and her brothers would inherit are nowhere to be found. Then Holly realises that the album could be a set of clues, and a treasure hunt across the country begins in a bid to find the jewels before their greedy uncle gets there first.

This was a very good book and had many different twists to it. It is written as a child would write their day and doesn’t give away the twists that the story takes.
I really like this book because the authorÆs writing style is realistic. It makes me feel like it really happened.
The main character is Holly (she tells the story) and she has a younger brother (Davy) and an older brother, (Jonathon) who cares for them. They set out on a quest to find their AuntieÆs treasure. It is also about the hard life they have because they have little money.
Holly had the choice to move to New Zealand for a better lifestyle but she didnÆt. This taught me that quality time with your family is precious. Another thing I like about this book is the unique and original chapter names.
This is a really good book review, Sammy. Well done!

An island of our own made me laugh and cheer on Holly and her brothers. I loved the setting of the Maker Space and was so happy that it really exists!
This book was good and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I liked all 3 children in it because they were funny and I felt sorry for them.
