This is a fantastic book: I’d probably go as far as saying this is the best book I’ve read in a very long while. The author, Narinder Dhami, has done a fantastic job of describing everything that is going on, every little detail. She did this with such skill that the book created an incredibly vivid image in my mind. I just couldn’t put it down, so much so that I finished it in just over two days. I would recommend this book to pretty much anybody over the age of 10 because of how easy it is to get into and involved with.
I loved this book, I couldn’t put it down. The way Anni acted like the adult and her mum acted like the child was upsetting and a real eye opener, to think that that sort of thing really does happen, and the fact they were scared to ask for help because they thought they would be separated was also very upsetting. I came up with lots of ideas of how the book could have ended. I really loved this book.
This is an amazing book!!! This is my fav and best book I have read/compared to Hunger Games and my previous fav book. I like the genre and have never read anything like it, I like all the twists and how at the beginning it started into tense action of Anni getting home on time. The thing that needed improved was probably that it wasn’t really believable , Anni’s mum at the start.
This book is amazing! I love how the main character Anni is so brave even at the most stressful of times. It is really emotional because I can’t believe how much Anni risks to look after and care for her Mum. I really like how kind Ace and the others were when they found out the crime that Anni committed. It is a sad but wonderful story.
The book is about a young carer called Anni who races home everyday after school to look after her mum. But her life is about to change when she hears voices upstairs. I liked the book because there was no repeated parts and you could picture what was happening. My favourite character was Anni because she is quick thinking and very brave. I didn’t like Queenie because she seemed very selfish and bossy. The characters seemed very realistic and they all had very different personalities.
The story was very unpredictable and there was no clear ending when you were reading. The book was a real page turner as I read for a few hours non-stop. I wouldn’t have chosen a different ending because the ending was very unexpected. I would recommend the book to people who like adventure and action books. I would rate this book 10/10 as I have never read anything like it!
