Instructions for a Second-hand Heart by Tamsyn Murray
This book has a very deceptive cover in that this is NOT a love story. It is a book told from the two perspectives.
Jonny is facing death, desperately in need of a heart transplant. Then one day he gets the call to say that a heart has been found û but of course, there are two sides to this story. Whilst JonnyÆs life may be saved, another family is facing a terrible loss.
Curiosity drives Jonny to find out more.
This is Tamsyn MurrayÆs second time being nominated for the Bolton Book Awards, the last time was in 2011 for her book æMy So Called Haunting.Æ
I enjoyed this book very much. It was a very heart-warming story from two points of view. The book is very hard to put down and very interesting. At first i was convinced this book would be a soppy love story but instead i came across an incredible story about, health, loss of family and a tiny sample of love.
Thanks so much for your review – I’m delighted you enjoyed the book! ‘Hard to put down’ is a big compliment for an author.

This is a crackin book with two great perspectives from both genders, and the idea of how the two characters meet is unbelievable.
This story is very touching as ones death can make a big difference.
I really enjoyed this book so thank you.
Thank you very much for your review – I’m glad you enjoyed the book!

Such a heart warming story. I am was so happy when Jonny received a heart transplant but was so sad when Leo died. This book is very intriguing and I have really enjoyed it so far.

A beautifully written book. I read this book in 1 day and I tugged at my heart strings. The story line, the blurb the way it looks just draws you into a wonderful, beautiful story, for the amount of time I read it, I was either in tears or laughing or even shouting my head off telling the characters what to do. This is by far the best book I have ever read. Johnny is a true fighter!
Thanks, Maira! Sorry about the tears (and the shouting) but I’m glad the book made you laugh too 🙂
