Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson
Matthew watches people. Imprisoned in his bedroom by a debilitating condition, he observes the coming and goings of the residents of the quiet road where he lives. So when a young child goes missing, Matthew has vital clues û but no-one will believe him.
A great mystery story with lots of twists and surprises right to the end, it is perfect for fans of The London Eye Mystery and Smart.

The book’s front cover caught my eye as it was bright and colourful. I read the blurb and I was immediately interested. I started to read the book and I was intrigued that this boy was used to having the same “timetable” everyday. I was amazed at the fact that Matthew did not go to school because of his condition! When two toddlers came to stay next door, I knew that something was up, but not this serious. Closer to theend, I liked how Matthew had tried to become an investigator, but it was very hard for him, what with his condition. It was, to an extent, funny how Old Nina had a few problems of her own, but started to help Matthew overcome his problem. In the end, I thought this book was a very good one, and how ironic the almost different stories were.

I really enjoyed this book! It was really gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I was filled with emotion at how heartwarming the story is, and how down to earth and real the book seems. As I read it I could literally imagine Matty at his window, writing in his notebooks, talking to The Wallpaper Lion and watching over his neighbours.
I would totally recommend this to people my age who understand how other people feel, and can empathise with Matty and not judge him.(people the opposite of Jake Bishop)
A great mystery and a great read.

A fantastic mystery book.
Matthew is a simple boy with a very weird fetish of having a sparkly, clean room.

This story is gripping and heartfelt whilst also being suspicious and endearing. It is the story of a boy named Matthew who is afraid of germs. He does not like to leave the sanctuary of his room, which is clean and sanitary. When a toddler being looked after by his grandfather next door goes missing, Matthew find himself at the centre of the mystery due to his window observations. He makes new friends, tries new things and has a very different experience along the way. Will he find the toddler from next door?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, as it is enticing from beginning to end and i would recommend this to anyone who likes detective books, but also heartfelt novels.
I enjoyed the plot and it is an eyecatching book. It is a story of a boy who is afraid of getting dirty but no one know why. When I started reading the book I couldnÆt put it down. The book has a wide range of vocabulary. And also later on the book will tell you why he is so clean(quite sad)
