Imagine being swept back in time to find yourself trapped in the conflict of World War I. Meeting a soldier and knowing that at 15, he will be the youngest to die on the battlefield. Would you be able to change the path of time to save him?
On a visit to Ypres to visit the war graves, Rose hears the sound of marching outside her hotel. Looking out, she spots a dog which leads her to a young soldier whose name she has read on a gravestone
An Original and deeply moving story. Valentine Joe is a very good look at the First World War and the impact it had on soldiers, families and the world as a whole. It’s a short read but one that has a strong impact and stays in your head even after you’ve finished it makes you see how horrible it was in that time and not to forget the brave soldiers that fought for England with their lives.4*
A moving story that is about the First World War. The main character (Rose) goes on an adventure in time and encounters an adventure of a lifetime.
An amazing story; a well deserved 4.5 stars!
This book is about a little girl called Rose and her dad has died and she’s on a train with her grandfather.
My favourite part is when Rose is on the train and she looks at people and thinks what they might do. Then the woman she’s looking at looks up at her and Rose looks down at her book in embarrassment. 5*
I think this book is romantic and sweet. It made me want to keep reading it. I at least read it twice. I would defantly reconment this book. It was a bit boring at the beginning but afterwards it got my attention. 3*
A great adventure book that I would recommend.
