My name is Silas Orr. I am a pyrate’s boy for the infamous Captain Harkin. Our ship the Tenacity is the most feared on the seven seas. Yesterday we found a boy in the water, almost drowned. Someone left the boy in the water to die; someone who will stop at nothing to get his treasure back.
If you find this note, you’ll know danger has come for us. Save us all.
Silas.
An exciting adventure about a boy who joins pirates. He doesn’t have any idea that joining them was the best decision in his life. His closest friend is the captain (Black Johnnie). They have one main adventure where they have to deliver precious cargo. However, this could mean Black Johnni hanging at the gallows.
An excellent read for adventure lovers. 5*
The book was exciting and really hard to put down, the mystery of the box really kept me reading. About 4 years ago I was fascinated about pirates, so reading about a boy around-about my age meant that I could relate to it. The only downside to this book is that some parts of the story seem to go on for ages. 4*
I like the way E.B. Colin (the author) has made a contrast between both pirate captains, eg. the good captain saves the lonely boy with the mysterious box from drowning in the sea, however the bad pirate doesn’t care about anyone but himself as he makes the boy walk the plank if he wouldn’t tell him where the key to the box is and he carried out his wicked plan. 4*
I think this a great book. The best part for me was when they were trying to find out what was the mystery of the box.
I love the adventure and showing the dangerous times in the past and it does spark an interest in criminal history. The plot is powerful and you really connect with the characters. The author created a moody atmosphere tremendously. This shows an amazing adventure of the life of a pirate!
