A slow starter that can only be finished if the patience of the reader is acquired.
Although the start is a little apprehensive, throughout the book, there are numerous oppurtunities for the reader to understand and believe the characters. After the befriending of the ‘Moon Bear’, in parts it is heart-warming due to the good-nature of Tam. What also makes this a good book, is the fact that when you have befriended the characters, you appreciate the certain quotes and actions in which they are portrayed, and this make you-me the reader make a hypathetical image of the chosen character, as our minds and imaginations allow us to think about the characters in certain situations prior to the situation that they will soon to be in.
From the postives……to the…erm…nega…..(cough..)..tives.
As I have already said in my opinion this book starts off relatively slow, most certainly in comparison to the other nominated books. Something which you have to remember, is the fact that this book is meant for kids, and if the start isn’t hard hitting and memerable, instantly the young reader may lose patience hence dis-continuing their persue of the book.

This book is moving and sad. It is realistic because things like this happen everyday. Very good book and makes you think. Overall this is my faviourite book and really enjoyed reading it. ***** 5 stars
