It sounded like a respectable and worthy enough death for an explorer – tumbling from an ice bridge to be impaled upon a mammoth tusk – but Stella really, really didn’t want that to happen, just the same.
When Stella and three other junior explorers get separated from their expedition, can they cross the frozen wilderness and live to tell the tale?

Hi Victoria. Thank you so much for reading Polar Bears and for taking the time to write such a lovely review!
I put a 3 1/2 star because it was first very boring but the other parts were very good.
I loved the part where Stella finds out she is an ice princes/queen.
I found it very weird when the boy from the other explorers club talked with Stella.
Hello. Thank you very much for reading Polar Bears and for taking the time to leave a review. I love the ice princess part too 🙂
The Polar Bear Explorers Club is one of the best books I have read so far. Stella, the main character is stuck with 3 other children in the Icelands and each task they have to face makes the book more and more exciting and interesting.

Hi Mia. Thank you for your lovely review – I’m so pleased that you found the book exciting!
I have loved reading this book. At first I wasn’t that keen on it but a few chapters in I was hooked to it. The characters and all interesting and I felt for the characters if they were sad or happy. One of my favorite book I have read.

Hi Thomas. Thank you very much for your five star review. I am so happy that you enjoyed reading Polar Bears!
This is perhaps the best novel I have read in the Bolton ChildrenÆs Fiction Award 2019 so farà
Alex BellÆs Polar Bear Explorers Club is a fascinating read, and brings you in a wild adventure you will be sure to love. The characters seem so real and you feel like you are part of the chilly atmosphere. Being trapped in the bookÆs twists and magic, you yearn for the opportunity to read this book. This is a review describing the plot of the novel and what makes it stand out from the rest.
Stella Starflake Pearl and her three fellow explorers trek across the snowy Icelands and come face-to-face with frost fairies, snow queens, outlaw hideouts, unicorns, pygmy dinosaurs and carnivorous cabbages . . . When Stella and three other junior explorers get separated from their expedition can they cross the frozen wilderness and live to tell the tale?
This book is perfect for fans of Philip PullmanÆs His Dark Materials, Lemony Snicket or JK Rowling. Polar Bear Explorers Club is certainly a book I would like to read over and over again. It is a mind-grasping novel and was a great adventure that enabled me to gain an insight to the magical snowy landscape. I had enjoyed every moment of it and was not able to put it on. My favorite character was Beanie because he takes sarcasm too literally which made you laugh out loud. He takes everything seriously and has his own magical world created inside his head which focuses on medicine! I also liked Shay as he was a wolf whisperer, a rare talent that people were born with. I personally would love to be an animal whisperer. Eventually came the time for me to finish the book and when it did, I was upset but knew this would remain a great memory. I will certainly recommend this to all type of people. I look forward to reading the sequel.
Hi Muhammad.I loved reading your eloquent and thoughtful review, and I can tell that you’re a real bookworm (like me!). I would love to be an animal whisperer too – it would be so cool to have conversations with them! I’m really chuffed that you enjoyed the book and very much hope you will like the sequel as well.
