An epic quest across wild Scottish highlands and islands, where friendships will be made and broken, lies will be untangled and the children will face danger and excitement at every turn.
When Alice is shipped off to boarding school in Scotland it’s nothing like she imagines. Run by the mysterious Major, there are no punishments and the students are more likely to be taught about body painting or extreme survival than Maths or English!
When Alice’s dad goes missing, she must run away to find him. But can she persuade her new friends to help?

I thought the book had lots of action packed twists and turns. It is well written and sucks you in to the story so you never want to put it down.
I would recommend it to children who like adventure and mysterious plots as there appear to be more than one storyline at once which include all of this.
It may not grip you straight away but it does get much better.
Natasha has written it so well that I stayed up late reading it.
As it is based in a real life place that doesn’t really have a castle on an island -where the book says it does -(in Scotland),the author has had to change the names of places in the book. It does say in the very back of the book what a few of them are.
Personally I loved it and hope you will too ( if you decide to read it) -I’d advise it.

This book was about a shy girl called Alice. He mother died when she was young and since then Alice’s life had been extremely different and difficult. Her aunt sent her to a boarding school called Stormy Loch, where she became friends with intelligent Fergus and hard-working Jesse. The Major put all 3 of them in a group, but soon all of them ended up in serious trouble. The Leopard is following them and trying to take a (*spoiler)they somehow got possession of. Will Alice be able to return it to(*spoiler) or will The Leopard catch them?
Filled with suspense, you never know what will happen next.
Full of twists and turns. It has a more modern Enid Blyton touch to it. Lovers of the book series Murder Most Unladylike will love this book. Full of emotion, conflicting emotions, friendships, laughter, happiness and yet sadness and loneliness as well. Natasha Farrant describes things very vividly and paints a picture in your head.

Quite a good book very interesting . I would recommend but it kept switching from narrator to character almost every sentence which got a bit tedious.

Children of Castle Rock is all about adventure. The plot twists make it more and more exciting and the villains bring in an aspect of crime. This is a book I would probably read again.
